Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 19, 2026
Tagst is currently provided by an independent developer and is not operated by a registered company. At this time, there is no commercial activity and the current subscription is provided free of charge. This service is designed to collect as little data as possible.
Local use
If you use Tagst without a server account, your data stays on your device. We do not use analytics, advertising trackers, or registration forms.
Server accounts
If you use sync or a server account, the service stores encrypted user data and technical identifiers required for authentication and sessions, such as random account IDs, session IDs, and passkey credential IDs. We do not require your name, email address, or other directly identifying registration data.
A subscription is used to enable synchronization and server-side storage of encrypted data. At this time, the subscription is free of charge.
IP addresses may be processed as part of normal network requests, but they are not used by the service to identify you personally or build user profiles.
Third-party services
Tagst does not use analytics or advertising services. Favicons can be disabled in the app settings. When favicons are enabled, the app may request icons directly from the website you saved. You may also choose a third-party favicon provider, including one of the providers listed in the settings or a custom provider URL.
When favicon loading is enabled, the website or favicon provider may receive the domain you are viewing and your IP address as part of the request.
Security
User content stored on the server is encrypted. The service is designed so that the server does not have access to your local encryption key.
Account deletion
If you use a server account, you can delete your online account from within the app. Deleting the online account removes the server account, active sessions, access credentials, and encrypted synced data stored on the server.
Deleting the online account does not automatically remove local data stored on your current device. Local data remains on the device unless you remove it separately.
Server-side data related to an expired subscription is not guaranteed to remain available for longer than two weeks after the subscription expires.
You can remove locally stored account data from the current device by using the Exit action in the app.
